October 23, 2012Quality video footage of STEAMROLLER's September 12 performance at Soundland in Fellbach, Germany can be seen below.
After a year-long world tour promoting the latest release from their legendary band WHITESNAKE, guitarist and songwriter Doug Aldrich, bassist and singer Michael Devin decided to come together with ZAPPA drummer-percussionist extraordinaire Joe Travers and pursue the adventure of their homegrown band during WHITESNAKE's 2012 hiatus.
Word quickly spread. Invitations came pouring in. It comes as little surprise the power trio creates a sound as big as a six-piece.
STEAMROLLER first performed a series of interactive clinic-concerts for Marshall in the U.K. late 2011. Gaining confidence on tour, their trial by fire was playing two shows back to back at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2012 fair in early 2012 in front of crowds of 5,000-plus music industry professionals.
Doug Aldrich spent years rippin' his guitar alongside metal master Ronnie James Dio before moving on to WHITESNAKE, where he has co-written the last two albums with legendary frontman David Coverdale.
Bassist and singer Michael Devin spent years on the road, playing bass with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and George Lynch, before joining WHITESNAKE.
Monster drummer Joe Travers has been involved in all things ZAPPA since the age of ten. He has played with Dweezil Zappa's various bands, Billy Idol, THE MOTELS, DURAN DURAN. He is also Vaultmeister of the Zappa Family Trust.
STEAMROLLER celebrates their unique individuality both as musicians and personalities. Their brand of music is raw and full of essential rock spunk.
